BIO

Gene is a solo performer who is a seasoned and versatile professional.  Gene has a charisma that endears him to audiences of all ages. Performing, over the years, from intimate venues to large festivals, including Bethlehem MusikFest, the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Jamboree in the Hills, etc.  Gene brings this experience to his shows today to the delight of his varied audiences.

 

Gene’s repertoire encompasses many styles: Pop Standards, Swing, Country, Folk,Rock, Blues, Jazz and Children’s Music which he performs in his Musical Puppet shows.

 

His career began in 1967 playing keyboards for "The Bondsmen" in Durham, N.C. He was a member of Pennsylvania-based “The Johnston Brothers” (country / rock band) and has also worked and recorded with Scottish Fiddler, Johnny Cunningham.  Gene has been performing as a solo artist and guest artist in other ensembles for the past 30 years.

 

Gene has recorded a number of albums: “Searching’ For  A Different Melody”(Folk Rock and Country), “Unami” (Neo-Classical), “Kid’s Stuff” (Children’s Music), and most recently “Improvisation”, an instrumental piano recording.
